Integrity Syndicate is led by founder and independent researcher Josiah E. Verkaik. New Testament scholar Dustin R. Smith, PhD, has edited the AICNT, the Core New Testament, and their companion works. The broader program extends from printed critical editions to free digital texts and study tools.

Josiah E. Verkaik

Author · Editor

Josiah E. Verkaik is the founder of Integrity Syndicate and an independent researcher focused on the early apostolic writings and the formation of the New Testament canon. He is the architect and author of The Core New Testament, The Case for the Core New Testament, and the AI Critical New Testament.

His work brings more than twenty-five years of biblical study together with a background in engineering, including medical-device engineering, and experience in Christian ministry. He directs the research, development, and publishing program of Integrity Syndicate.

Dustin R. Smith, PhD

Author · Editor

Dustin R. Smith, PhD, is a New Testament scholar and Research Manager at Spartanburg Methodist College. He is the editor of The Core New Testament, The Case for the Core New Testament, and the AI Critical New Testament.

Dr. Smith is the author or editor of eleven books, including A Systematic Theology of the Early Church. He has taught Biblical Greek for more than a decade at undergraduate and graduate levels and has served on the editorial boards of two scholarly journals.

Statement of faith

The apostolic proclamation is our foundation.

Our focus is the basic faith of primitive apostolic Christianity. Our statement of faith is the core kerygma—the proclamation of the apostles as reflected in the Core New Testament.

Accordingly, we affirm the core gospel concerning Jesus the Christ as preserved in Luke–Acts and Paul’s epistles. Writings beyond this core scriptural corpus are not treated as essential to this foundational apostolic proclamation.

These convictions are not presented as a substitute for textual evidence. Because every translation and edition involves judgment, we publish our methods, document meaningful alternatives, and preserve a visible path for criticism and correction.
